Further Faith Connections: Exploring Christian Denominations
26th Feb – 1 April
4pm in the URC
A series of public talks on Sunday afternoons leading up to Easter in which we hope to come to a deeper understanding and mutual respect for each other as we learn both what we hold in common, and where we differ and why, as diverse members of the one Body of Christ.
Each speaker will give an overview of their denomination and its unique history, traditions, practices, key historical figures, and theological positions that may distinguish it from other Christian denominations. Following their presentation, there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
We hope that individuals will feel encouraged and challenged to become more articulate about what and why they personally believe as a result of participating in this series — and that we will all have an opportunity to practise talking about these issues in constructive ways.
