To help us work together more closely supporting and caring for one another, our community and the wider world, the church has adopted a Ministry Team Model. Many in the congregation have specific skills such as: teaching, finance, property maintenance, secretarial skills, IT support, web design, farming, gardening and law, as well as professional health care. However, we are keen to encourage all to reflect on their own gifts and calling and we are fortunate in that a majority of members play an active role either by membership of ministry teams or by taking on specific jobs.
The model is based on the idea that in small groups we can offer support for each other in fulfilling the work of the church. We try to ensure that at least one elder is a member of each team to help liaise between the elders meeting and each ministry team.
Currently there are ten teams:
- Adult Christian Education Ministry (ACE)
- Care for the World Ministry
- Children & Youth Ministry
- Communications Ministry
- Dementia-friendly Church Ministry Team
- Finance Ministry
- Hospitality Ministry
- Maintenance Ministry
- Pastoral Care Ministry
- Worship Ministry
